Apple acquires Anobit for $500 million
Apple is acquiring an Israeli startup Anobit for up to $500 million. Anobit has developed a chip that enhances flash drive performance through signal processing. In addition to the acquisition, Apple will also open an R&D center in Israel, its first outside the United States.
